Welcome to the Hackett-Kyne Academy of Irish Dancing

We hold Irish dance classes for ADULTS and CHILDREN, including PRE-SCHOOL classes ‘Celtic Tots’, and we are based in Kent, UK. 

The Hackett-Kyne Academy of Irish Dancing is located in the South-East of England, including Medway, Kent and South-East London. You can find our group classes and private classes in Bexley, Sidcup, Hextable, Bexleyheath, Maidstone, Gillingham, Wigmore, Rainham, Chatham, Northfleet and Vigo.

The school was first established in 1997 by Tara Hackett TCRG.

Then in September 2010 Tara and Natalie Kyne TCRG joined together to become a team with the aim of having more time to help the students.

Natalie received her 'TCRG' qualification in July 2010 and in the September she joined Tara to become the Hackett-Kyne Academy. Natalie is registered with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha, (Irish Dancing Commission) in Dublin, and she is also registered with REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) since completing the following courses: 'Exercise to Music', 'Health Related Exercise for Children', 'Nutrition for Weight Management', 'Personal Trainer', 'Core Stability', 'Circuits', 'Gym Instructor'.

Natalie is currently studying for 'Pilates', 'Nutrition for Sports', and 'GP Referral'. This enables all of our dancers, children and adults, to perform their dances well and safely.

Dancers from the Hackett-Kyne Academy take part in various performances throughout the year at a number of events including St Patrick’s Day parties, weddings, school fetes, Birthday parties and many more. Dancing at these events helps the children to gain confidence.

Competitions are a large part of the dancers progress and the teachers encourage dancers to compete at different levels throughout the UK.

To date, we have had dancers at the Great Britain’s and the World Championships including many local feisanna.

Students are also encouraged to enter for gradings which are held each year by the Hackett-Kyne as well as the Delaney Academy.

The Hackett-Kyne Academy are an affordable Irish dance school allowing the students to enjoy their hobby, gain experience and meet people, as well as hopefully fulfilling their dreams.

The school is registered with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha (Irish Dancing Commission) in Dublin, Ireland.
